This commentary on the Supreme Court's plan to consider patent venue issues in the 2017 Term previously ran as an FICLAW blog in December 2016, and also was published in the IP Litigator. See IP Litigator Article here. TC Heartland, LLC v. Kraft Food Brands Group, LLC (Case No. 16-341) is now set for oral argument on March 27, 2017. Twenty amicus briefs have been filed in the matter representing a wide array of interested trade and professional associations, industry groups, law professors, state attorneys general, internet companies and retailers and others interested in this Court's determination of proper venue in patent litigation matters.
