Jeff Cox's February 2 article, "Four of the Most Important Letters in the Alphabet - G, D, P and R" regarding the impact to U.S. businesses from the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") was re-published in the Financial Market Report, a publication of the South African Institute of Financial Markets. Set to go into effect on May 25, 2018, the GDPR imposes a new framework on companies around the world for the control and processing of data as it relates to persons residing in European Union nation-states; its extra-territorial impact will be felt around the globe, raising a myriad of compliance and enforcement issues. Jeff's article highlights the need for businesses to seek guidance on how to meet the GDPR's regulations.
Jeff Sharkey successfully obtained a temporary restraining order for a client in Coshocton County, Ohio. That order precludes a former employee from competing with the client or soliciting employees of the client to join competitors. A preliminary injunction hearing is scheduled for late March. Jeff has extensive experience litigating non-compete cases in various courts in Ohio.
The firm has joined the I-70/75 Development Association, with Jeff Cox representing the firm.
