Faruki Ireland & Cox P.L.L. is pleased to welcome Jeffrey Knight as the firm’s newest member. Knight joins FI&C after serving as a litigation attorney at the U.S. Department of State, where he was assigned to the Department’s Freedom of Information and Privacy Act Litigation Team. He has also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Jack Zouhary of the Northern District of Ohio.
Knight joins FI&C’s team of attorneys litigating class actions and individual cases nationwide in matters concerning the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Driver's Privacy Protection Act, and other laws involving the handling of personal information. With attorneys in Cincinnati and Dayton, Knight's experience adds not only to the depth of the attorneys handling data compliance litigation matters, but also FI&C's data breach response and data compliance and governance practice.
“After several high profile data breaches over the past few years, data security and compliance are top of mind for many businesses and individuals. Jeff will be a great addition to the team. His background and expertise in data compliance issues will reinforce our expanding cybersecurity practice,” said Ron Raether, FI&C Partner.
Knight is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law where he served as the senior articles and symposium editor of the Toledo Law Review. He also placed second in the Graduate School Symposium for his research on homeschooling and interscholastic athletics and was presented with the Dean’s Outstanding Service Award upon graduation.
Prior to law school, Knight attended the University of Maryland, College Park and earned a bachelor of arts in history and political science with a citation in environmental studies.
